TSURUMI RYOKUCHI PARK

The 120-hectare park features an overload of flowers, trees and greenery, as the site of The International Garden and Greenery Exposition which was held in 1990. Every season features an assortment of blooms, providing visitors something new at different times of the year, making it a popular place for locals to relax, take a stroll or grill their favourite food at the onsite barbecue space. Aside from tree-lined paths and streams that provide a calm and serene environment, there are rare plants and diverse animal life to discover within the premises.

SAKUYA KONOHANA KAN

Housed within the Tsurumi Ryokuchi Park, the Sakuya Konohana Kan served as the pavilion of the International Garden and Greenery Exposition held from 1 April to 30 September 1990. Featuring approximately 15,000 plants of 2,600 species collected from around the world, this is considered as one of the largest conservatories in Japan. Inside the conservatory is the Humid Tropical Plant House, Tropical Flowering Trees and Shrubs, Plants of Arid Regions and the Alpine House. Find out more here.

NAGAI BOTANICAL GARDEN

The 24.2 hectare park features 11 specialty gardens including a rose garden, and is home to wild birds and about 1,200 seasonal flowers and trees. At night, it transforms to the teamLab interactive outdoor art experience which alters the park to an incredible immersive open air site.

TENNOJI ZOO

Opened in 1915, the zoo has been operating for more than 100 years, featuring about 1,000 animals of 180 species. The 11 hectare space is divided in four zones – African Savanna Zone, World of Birds, Asian Tropical Rainforest Zone and Aviary Zone, and has been actively participating in global breeding programs as part of their commitment to protecting endangered animals.

OSAKA MAISHIMA SEASIDE PARK

Known for the incredible field of Nemophila (Baby Blue Eyes), the 4.4 hectare park boasts of its collection of over 1 million of this flower. Visit between April to early May where an annual event is held, complete with food trucks and activities to be enjoyed by both the young and young at heart.

OSAKA GARDEN OF FLORAL CULTURE

An ideal spot to bring the family, the Osaka Garden of Floral Culture features year round blooms in large flower beds, amidst a beautiful greenhouse at the background. Enjoy the rose, plum and peony gardens, look through the extensive collection of books about flora, or attend one of the seasonal classes.
